Professor Zannella's Critical Thinking in Psychology seminar was my favourite course in the program. Her lectures were inspiring, and she helped all students who seemed lost or needed clarification. Her TA was extremely reliable as well. The course was graded on many things, so losing some marks was never a big deal because you would earn it back.
The content of this class is very interesting and Zannella gives assignments that promote learning and are fun to complete. I took this as a half-semester class and it wasn't overwhelming with work like most fast-paced courses are.
Dr. Zannella is by far my favorite professor at ASU. She gave lots of different assignments that were not just busy work. She also lets you choose which topics you want to learn more about. One thing that really impressed me was she gives extension coupons and acknowledges we have lives outside of school.
I enjoyed this class. There was a ton of reading, but the assignments were all different and interesting, no exams either! For every assignment, I got great feedback also. She also gives three extension coupons that you can use on any assignment!
She gives unclear grading criteria. She changes the criteria halfway through the course. She doesn't have a textbook, but assigns different readings. Most of the time, they're not too bad, but some weeks there was an unreasonable amount of reading expected. No quizzes, but her reflection assignments are essentially essays due every week.
She makes her courses very heavily weighted. The material is interesting for the most part, but assignments are vague. Lots of issues with her as a professor, both personal and technical.
Lesley is a nice instructor who is understanding and flexible (if needed) but I found the way the course was done I did not really gain much knowledge. The online component that was mandatory was not very beneficial. I also found her to be a very hard marker, normally I average much higher and in this class I struggled to get the mark I did.
Lesley is the best professor ever. She makes class exciting with lots of different types of content. She is extremely knowledgeable, and will give satisfying answers to all your questions (and if there is something she doesn't know, she will research it on her own time and present it to you next class). Take her course, you won't regret it!
This professor is INCREDIBLE. She is so knowledgeable and a pleasure to listen to. She is warm and approachable and makes three hour lectures not only manageable but interesting. She uses various teaching methods (videos, online in class quizzes, guest speakers) to truly get the point across. She is an absolute gem - take any class with her!!
Zannella is a rock star! She is extremely passionate about the subject matter. She pulls you in to the world of Criminal Behavior with her creative teaching methods and zeal. She is kind, pleasant and patient; she's the professor we all hope for but rarely get. If you qualify for her courses, run don't walk or you'll miss out on a great experience!
