By far one of the worst profs I've ever had, taught Market research at Wilfrid Laurier University. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. Extremely unclear in instructions for assignments, will try to say "I don't focus on the problem, I focus on the solution" when it's his error in assignments. Never provided rubric and clear expectations from assignments.
I think this was his first Schulich course. I have never written a review about an instructor, but it was such a negative experience. I had to let other potential students know. He was extremely disorganized, the assignments he gave were not thoughtful. He graded assignments on the spot, and more than 60% of the evaluations was group based.
He's a very good and engaging professor and creates very interesting lectures with real world examples. All course projects and assignments are straight forward. Quizzes and exams are based on the textbook. He is a fair marker and gives lots of time to complete your work. I am taking him again next semester because he is a stress-free prof.
Not very clear in instructions and can be confusing although grades easy. The textbook was used which was not easy to complete quizzes without.
One of the best Marketing professors with vast amounts of knowledge. He is a great person, makes you come to the lectures and keeps the class entertained. Big group project, make sure to select a good group! Other than that been a pleasure to be in his class.
He's a really good and engaging professor and creates very interesting lectures with real world examples. this is my third class with him and I always find his lectures so informative. His assignments are straight forward and easy. Simple expectations. Participation earns bonus marks so that's a plus. Overall good stress-free prof. Highly recommend
Professor Butt is a really great prof and a fair marker when it comes to the group project, as long as you follow the guidelines and actually put in a decent amount of effort, you'll get a good mark. He also wanted to create a more engaging class this semester, so he gave bonus marks for participating in class which was amazing. Highly recommend.
Lectures may seem very straight forward and dull. All quizzes and tests were straight from the textbook which was easy to find online. The project instructions were very confusing but the grading was extremely lenient. In the end, I started off being intimidated but ended with my first easy 90. Very easy online class.
He's underrated. It's not a hard course. Mainly only tests and quizzes. There's also a major group project. He tries to keep the class engaged and encourages participation. Even gives a 1% bonus mark if you do. He also tries to relate his lessons by analyzing ads and commercials. You're in safe hands.
