He is a very hard marker for no reason. Doesn't provide rubrics for assignments and assignment instructions are far too broad that expectations are unclear. He also assigns random marks without any explanation or comment. Quizzes are easy. Assignments are broad. Textbook is useless. I advise choosing another instructor if you care about your GPA.
Professor Burry is a good professor. He is all you could really ask for, he is a fair marker and gives very helpful comments on assignments. Albeit he might be a tougher marker than others, you will definitely learn from him. He does not respond to emails, but he is very helpful in person. Lectures are bland but you don't need them.
It is a subjective subject that shouldn't even be a course for that reason, this allows him to mark however he wants. You will not get bad marks if you go to class and pay attention, but it's hard to get great ones.
I was waitlisted for this course and ended missing the first two classes and told him about it and why I missed some of the assignments that were due and he gave me a lot of attitude and said fine hand it by next class. I didn't pay too much attention in this course because of the no midterms and exams, but if you pay attention you'll be fine.
Great professor, fair marker and quite funny! Would definitely take him again. He gives you good feedback on your written assignments.
Prof is funny, a fair marker and overall cool and funny guy. Gives good feedback. Made this summer class a breeze. You need to read the textbook if you want to pass the one test.
Average grader, gives constructive feedback, approachable, and good teacher
John can be a tough grader, but he usually gives detailed feedback and goes through the structure of assignments after giving the grades back. As long as you attend class, you don't really need to read the textbook cover to cover - the lectures do a good job of summarizing. The textbook can come in handy for assignments.
Great product, makes lectures interesting. Straight to the point and unlike so many other profs actually knows how to communicate to students
As long as you pay attention in class, you'll pass. Don't do CMN online. No midterm or exam, just a series of online quizzes and mini-assignments throughout the semester, and a group presentation at the end. Can be a picky grader, but as long as you look at the given textbook and D2L examples of assignments to model yours off, you'll be good.
