Sonia Meerai

Amazing teacher who genuinely goes above and beyond for her students. She makes everyday filed with fun and joy and is the most understanding prof. I am shocked by any negative review as she has sent above and beyond to make class room environments comfortable and welcoming to everyone. She is by far my favorite professor I have ever had.

I LOVE HER. Sweetest women ever and it is paramount that she desires for students to succeed. Quick responses to emails, always holding meetings for students, and provides support for any academic-related stressors (i.e. paper being worth a lot). Her blunt humor and bubbly personality makes it one of my favorite classes to attend. Never boring.

Sonia is by far one of my favourite professors. She consistently goes the extra mile to ensure the class is on the right path, while also engaging the class in what can be sometimes dry topics. It is clear that she has a passion for the work she does, and this translates through the stories she shares. Her realness made the class more comfortable.

Sonia seems nice in class but she can become aggressive really quickly. Like if you ask questions during class she acts annoyed. she doesn't really care if students are stressed or upset. if you meet with her outside of class to talk about an issue she just gets irritated. not very understanding or empathetic.

Sonia is condescending & avoids answering questions students ask in class. Assignments are poorly explained; she does not provide rubrics or guidance other than the title & weight of each assignment. Many assignments were to be completed in a group including research papers, which she took over 5 weeks to grade & return. Avoid this prof.

Sonia acts easy going. She isn't. She offers little to no actual guidance on projects. She creates an uncomfortable learning environment. Her teaching is extremely dry. She gives group projects because she admits that she does not want to grade everyone's work. I would never choose to take her courses.

Sonia provides a great space for her students. The course has dry content but she always checks in to see if anyone needs clarification before moving on. She provides a relaxed and welcoming environment. Remote learning has been challenging but she's always doing what she can to engage students. She's also available outside of class. Great prof.

Sonia is one of the best profs I have had. She truly cares about her students and always makes it well known that she is there for support (even outside of school hours) and if we need any kind of extensions she is more then willing to accommodate whatever works best for the student! That is something you dont often run across in a professor.

Honestly, she was a good prof. She cares for her students, willing to meet outside of class if needed. The course is hard but she tried her best to make it as easy as she could, at times she would provide extensions on papers or even tests.

She spends a lot of time chit-chatting and making jokes rather than teaching course content. While she presents herself as easy-going, shes actually very unwilling to discuss student concerns and gets irritated by inquiries/requests to meet. The class atmosphere is very awkward and tense.
