Kalli was a great first-year journalism prof! She's caring, kind and really wants her students to succeed. She responds to emails quick and is accessible outside of class. Although she marks story days a little too hard, she always has her students best interest at heart. Would definitely take her again!
I had Kalli as a lecturer and not a lab prof, and Im glad I didnt have her all day every Wednesday. She sort of drones on in her lectures and tends to read off the unengaging slides. Assigns lots of readings, not all of which I feel are relevant to her lecture topic of the day. Seems like a tough marker.
The feature class with Kalli is tough. Features are so subjective anyways, and she's got a "formula" that she likes to employ. Don't get too strung out of she doesn't mark your stuff well. She does one-on-one edits with people, but get ready for your work to be ripped apart.
Kalli is really nice and extremely understanding to any situation you might be going through as well as your circumstances! Her expectations tend to grow as each story goes by, but she's happy to help at every step! She even brings snacks almost every lab! Just needs to be a bit more clear in instructions, but all you have to do is ask her!
Kalli is a mess. Its hard to determine what her grading criteria is because there is no consistency. If you get her on a good mood she's great but if you speak to her when she's annoyed she's very critical and can be a very tough marker. Be stragetic and smart with your interactions with her and you'll be fine.
Kalli is a great journalist and phenomenal teacher! She gives excellent feedback on assignments and is a tough but fair grader, and is always open in class to working with students who need help. She clearly cares about her students and, sometimes, even brings candy to class! Just stay updated on the news and you'll be fine. Thanks Kalli!
