Ann Murnaghan

This course consists of a weekly reading, 1 essay proposal, 1 essay, midterm/final. Dr. Murnaghan herself is very friendly, easy to talk to, and explains concepts quite well. Dr. Murnaghan speaks very clearly and is easy to understand. The assignments/exams are very fair. I wish she would teach CCY2999.

Prof. Murnaghan is new to York, but was low fuss, extremely knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive. I am not one for attending office hours (never did before her), but I went to hers a few time and always felt very welcome/heard. Would 100% recommend as a prof, in my four years of CCY I think she was one of my top three favourite professors.

Prof Murnaghan is the sweetest and really cares about your mark. Her lectures were interesting and kept you engaged with the assignments. She marks decent and overall gives great feedback on your papers. So if you keep up with the readings, class discussions, assignments you will get above an A. Definitely recommend her for York University students

Got a B in Geo of Toronto. Literally the easiest course at ryerson. WHO GETS A B IN GEO793? My class average was a full letter grade lower than the other section. If you care about your GPA and are seeking a bird course, stay clear of this professor and grab a different section.

She reads a lot of slides and marks the essays pretty tough but tests were extremely easy. Roughly 90% of exam took stuff straight out of slides with some referencing the readings.

Didn't go to one class and ended up with a decent grade. Its an elective course and I did this course as a second year student. Exams are kind of hard if you had to do them in person. She marks hard on the essay but the other assignments are relatively easy to score big. All in all, interesting course bc of the field report. Prof is very nice.

She gave great feedback and would always take time to explain papers thoroughly, she has great humour, and overall gives off a great vibe

I was hesitant to take GEO 793 with Dr. Murnaghan, because there were some negative reviews about her (they are probably from the students who skipped class lol). This professor is SO FAIR in her grading and you'll get at least an A- if you show up to class . She tells you exactly what she expects on tests and essays! :) AMAZING PROF!!

Never take the course with her, super hard!

Easiest Course I have taken in Ryerson. Midterm is OPEN BOOK, field report and essay easy A, A+. Will let you know once I write the final :D I can not believe the bad reviews here lol P.S I have not been to a single lecture btw. Powerpoint slides are pretty straightforward
