This course was offered for the first time and it was absolutely HORRIBLE! The marking is super subjective, there are no clear guidelines to follow so you end up guessing 80% of the time what the prof or the TA would want. The prof is barely any help in office hours. "Beall's list" is the only thing I learned from this course.
Sadly the first time the course is being run, taking the course with Dr. Willis is unavoidable. She has an ego, she doesn't give clear instructions on assignments, and she is not available for help as many other science professors are. Tutorials waste 2 hours of your week for nothing. Hopefully Ryerson will find better for next year. It was awful.
The course was structured weakly, we were not given instructions in its entirety so ended up 'assuming' what the TAs or Lisa would want. She went off topic during lectures a lot, to the point where it seemed like a regular critical thinking course & NOT biomedical. Most tutorials were not helpful & lectures were average if not below avg. at best.
