Really nice professor, gives great feedback and assignments are straight forward but the TA's mark really hard and its impossible to please them. How are you marking harder than the actual professor herself?
Susan is a great professor; she knows what she is talking about, and you can tell she is genuinely passionate about it, and she cares about our learning as emerging educators. She loves to hear students' perspectives, opinions, and experiences. I really enjoy our class discussions as they are open and respectful. I would take her again.
Susan is a wonderful professor. These past reviews are from people who expected to just show up and put in no effort. This is university, you need to try guys. Every class was engaging and there was a hands-on element to it. Assignments are open-ended and practical. Susan is funny, kind, and you can tell that she really cares about her students.
she's doesnt follow the rubric, grades based on how she feels, not the actual rubric. If you don't have a strong relationship and worship the ground she walks on, it will be reflected in your mark. So many repetitive assignments based on assumptions; when you ask questions, you won't get a straightforward reply, but will receive a bad mark.
5 syntheses you can do throughout the semester. She marks so hard on the citations. The actual classes are good and lots of group stuff, so you can make friends, but the assignments make it seem a lot harder than it is. Not a lot of info on the course outline, she explains the assignments well in class. She's kinda two faced tho i'd avoid her.
Susan is great if you put in the effort. she will call you out when she can tell you're not paying attention which is really odd but I liked her lectures. you have to come to class already have read the readings because thats how she starts every class is discussing the readings. Kinda a tough markers but also not really. Follow the rubric to a T
She's organized and knows her stuff, but very hard to deal with. Her tone can be condescending and communication feels dismissive. Grading is super tough and unclear, making the class way more stressful than it needs to be. The course is structured well, but the experience isn't enjoyable.
Susan actually has great content. The course it's self isn't hard. But this course was an example of what it's like to deal with a prof on a power trip. Susan is extremely passive aggressive, stuck up and just rude. Take this course with another prof. Im pretty sure her TAs are either clueless or scared or both. Working with her must be a nightmare
The only advice I can give you is to take the course with a different prof. Do what you need to do, take it in a different semester but AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This was genuinely the worst class I have ever experienced. The content itself was not bad but Susan made the entire experience so unnecessarily painful
she acts super nice in the beginning but later she will change lol, marks super hard, her TA tried to convince us that getting a 70% is a really good mark when we'd ask for feedback to improve. honestly since it is mandatory for some students do try your best and keep going, you got this. just be ready for a 2 faced & passive aggressive prof.
