His accent can be a little distracting but it's not bad. He posts pre-recorded lectures to teach the concepts so I never really attended the scheduled lectures, which were loaded with breakout rooms and discussions. The weekly quizzes boost your grade if you revise the material. The group project is okay if you have a team that puts in the work.
I feel like this prof gave good opportunities for getting good grades including multiple attempts on the weekly quiz and an extra 2% easy bonus. Was doing really well but final exam brought me down a bit.
Not gonna lie his teaching style is actually dope. He takes the important stuff from a textbook chapter, and makes four or five 10 minute videos explaining that stuff. Then he recaps the videos in his lectures. This means you don't have to attend any lectures, just watch the videos and/or read the textbook, and you'll get a clean 75%
Dr. Mehrabi was a firm but fair prof. He gave you two attempts on quizzes And would reply fast to emails. He also gives you a 2% bonus. Most of everything is based on the textbook so reading it covers the entirety of his lectures and then some.
Hamed gave us time during class to work on the group project which was helpful. We asked him several questions and his guidance helped up to improve our work. Make sure that you do a decent job for the assignment as it is 30% of the grade. The 2% bonus mark boosted my grade from a B+ to an A-.
His live lectures were a summary of his posted lectures. Live lectures were engaging in a stance of provocative questions related to the textbook readings, however, his teaching style was not a right fit for me and I found his voice monotone, thus disengaging. Not a mark booster at all but its fair marking, just work for it (approx 6+ hours for me)
He said that the exams are from a test bank designed by the publisher of the textbook but they were difficult. Other than that he was good. The discussion questions and group activities were engaging.
Hamed is a real gem. Watch his videos, participate in class and you will do well. Unlike other profs, he is trying hard to make his classes engaging online. He clearly states midterm and exam contents, and posts review questions &formula sheets for both. After the project, he uses that time to go over metrics. One of the best Profs I had.
He's useless. Hard to follow lectures, was better off spending hours reading chapters from textbook. Never answered questions properly and gave vague and useless responses. His voice is super monotoned and he does not attempt to even make any of his lectures more enjoyable for students. Seems like he does not care about students.
