Absolutely horrid teacher. Do not take her. Shes been warned previously by other students how badly her assignment outlines are and she doesnt bother to fix them. Shes had to send email after email to explain her assignments because literally no one does it right because of how its written. Her emails are also passive aggressive.
Not very approachable. Easy marker but not understanding. If you miss a lecture or explanation, she will refuse to help you understand the material. Emailing her is pointless because she will not show care for the students.
An extremely understanding and sweet Field Advisor. Understands and accommodates her students. Online placement was not well oriented this year but this was definitely out of Sophie's control. The synchronous parts of field placement were held bi-weekly and Sophie did many breakout rooms. Overall a great experience for being an online placement.
I had Sophie for my year three field advisor and I was going into this class happy with having Sophie as my professor again. I learned nothing from this class, she was unclear about assignment guidelines especially the due dates of the group discussions. She was unorganized, break out rooms were useless and this class did not benefit me as an ECE.
I had Sophie as my Field Advisor for placement, and she is amazing! She may look mean but she's the kindest thing, and very easy to talk to. She is also understanding when it comes to due dates and other things.
I love Sophie Bell! By far one of my favourite profs! She really invests her time and cares about how you are doing in school. She really helped me survive my first and second year placement. I hope I will be lucky enough to get her in fourth year. Definitely try to have her as a prof! Such a sweetheart!
Sophie is an AMAZING professor, I took her intensive 1 week class during the summer and found it extremely engaging, fun and interactive. To be completely honest a majority of the class was spent interacting with each other, laughing and making scholarly connections to the articles we read. Attendance is important, and remember to participate!! <3
I loved Sophie! She made this course interesting and fun! Shes very encouraging & helpful!
First of all, this course was utterly useless and a complete waste of time. Other than the fact that we learned a few children song, nothing else she delivered in class does any benefit to our future career as ECEs. She was rude, unapproachable and expected a lot from her students when everything she taught was pointless.
