Julia is a perfectly nice person but not an amazing prof. Impossible to reach through email, left a lot of the class to her TA's, who were good but not qualified to act as our prof (no fault of theirs). She left us high and dry and allowed our course to be extended past the date specified in the syllabus. Denied responsibilities as a prof
Julia is not a prof I ever want to have again. I have emailed her numerous times throughout the semester and she ignored every single one of them. In all of the emails that I sent, I was professional and polite. I understand that this year is more stressful with Covid but she should still be able to reply to emails. Not impressed with her at all.
One of the worst profs I've ever had. Extremely unfair marker, almost impossible to get ahold of through email, and never available during office hours. Avoid her if possible, she clearly has no idea how to be a professor.
I loved this class that I took. Julia is super passionate about everything she talks about and she makes sure it is all relative to what we were learning about. Lots of studying that had to be done for this class but I loved it and would take another class from her in a heartbeat.
Julia is an amazing professor, easy to approach, very knowledgable and a fair grader. Midterms and assignments were clearly marked and all expectations were outlined. There was A LOT of content but as long as you are interested in the topic and take the time to study you will do well. She does go over material quickly and tends to talk very fast
Okay. I didn't do well in this class, but she knows her stuff. I found her helpful and likeable. Her attendance is frustrating, but I feel like this will be adjusted. Content heavy class, lots of memorization
The course was very content heavy. Julia went over material quite fast but would always stop to answer any questions and go over concepts again. Content on exam was straight from lecture slide and pretty fair. Definitely need to study a lot though. Overall she tried to make her lectures interesting and was very friendly.
In all honesty I wish that Julia was teaching both PLN103 and PLN203, everything you needed in order to ace her tests were on the slides. Screw the textbook it's a waste of time. In comparison to Nick, she is 10x better. I mean why sit in a class for 3 hours to only go back have to read more. Also, slides are awesome. Overall, give her full-time
She herself is really nice, wasn't a fan of the course. 3 hours of being read slide and slide, is difficult not to get distracted or fall asleep. She's approachable and answers all questions, goes back and explains when you ask. She said the midterms were gunna be based on slides but some questions were from the textbook.
She's a great prof! She speaks very quickly during the lectures, but if you need her to repeat something she does! She made transitioning into uni a lot better. She is very fair and if you put in some kind of effort you will do well! She is SUCH a nice person it's crazy! TAKE HER CLASS!
