Honestly, very interesting and informative content learned that can be applied to how we view the real world. Prof Rae is quite a nice person and a decent prof when explaining her lectures and answering questions. Although she is a fairly tough marker and specific. Beware group projects! Overall a chill course you can take at your own pace.
She is a very nice and kind woman. Her lectures are short but it is project-heavy, a lot of which she does not mark, TA's do; and they can be brutal since a lot of it is based on creativity and frankly, opinion. the course has some interesting concepts which are applicable to real life, overall 7/10 for a required course.
Lots of assignments and writing, no midterm or exam so everything was assignment-based. Stuff was marked decently, at least for me. The professor answers questions patiently and is very nice and relaxed. The class was just offline lectures, readings, and in-class group work which was participation-based and not hard. Overall this class was tiring.
Prof Rae is a good prof! She is a Straightforward and clear communicator. I am a big fan of how she chooses to organize course content, always choosing the easiest and most understandable way to display course content. I would take classes from her again! Great prof overall!
Fair and reasonable but marks for assignments are easily deducted. Group assignments were easy but tests were quite difficult. Accessible outside of class for discussions about grades but you most likely won't get a boost. Overall an ok prof but be careful with everything you submit to be assessed.
Although Eleanor is a very nice person, this class was the worst. The lectures were extremely content loaded and much of what we talked about was repeated and reworded over and over again. Content on the mid-term and exam were almost trivia questions and not knowledge testing so be prepared to study based on every single thing she says/shows you.
Eleanor is a great prof for this class! She makes the urban planning aspect relatable and interesting for Creative Industries students. The assignments are fun and not too hard to complete - they involve fieldtrips downtown, so not all of the class time involves lectures.
Ok, so I love Eleanor. She is super funny and I found this class to be interesting; however, as a Creative Industries student, I can see why my peers felt as if this class was useless. Also, the group project was fun but pick your group carefully because I got stuck with lazy stubborn brats. Do the readings and go to class and you'll be fine.
She sounds like Rashida Jones and brings a young, hip energy to a class that CRI students don't find useful. Lectures are long but material is interesting. Field trips and map making is a pretty sweet gig. Tests are fair and simple. Felt like material got repetitive after midterm, shouldn't be a full semester class. study well for exams & get an A.
Although this course has interesting content, It doesn't relate to our degree a whole lot. I really enjoyed the projects, they were cool, hip and a great way to learn about the subject. Lectures dragged and were long. Time given for mid-term and final was extremely unreasonable. Overall an okay class, and Eleanor is pretty cool.
