Raktim Mitra

Great professor. Dr. Mitra was able to offer a balanced stance on the subject. They provide a great breadth of knowledge and challenge perspectives on the subject. Be prepared to be graded critically. For success, readings and discussion are essential to the class. They are a good fit for quality, albeit challenging, content.

Great prof. Has very specific expectations so is a tough marker at times. His lectures are pretty straight forward and he is very engaging with students and is extremely knowledgeable in the transportation field. Mitra is well respected as he is the assistant director of SURP. He is very approachable out of class and is accomodating in some ways.

If you have poor math skills, it will be a bit of a struggle. His material from the lectures are difficult to comprehend but reviewing it from the textbook made it clearer. Learning statistics can be a pain.

Great lecturer, easy to understand

His accent is sometimes hard to understand but he's knowledgable. At first, the stuff he thought didn't make sense but afterwards when you review it, it makes sense. I suggest to get the textbook and do the practice question because that really helped with clarification. He was there during office hours for help and the lab easy marks.

A really good, fair guy. He is available out of class hours, and happy to help. He is responsible for my newly found interest in statistics. Don't bother buying the textbook, he only tests on what he teaches in class.
