Heavily graded on 3 quizzes and participation, all together made up 65% of your mark. The quizzes are online open book. Participation was also easy if you came to class prepared. Didn't give guidance for the final, but it was way easier than I expected. She is quite abrasive and can come off as condescending. Easy class but not the best experience

If you come to class prepared and are respectful, you should have no issues. However, don't expect a bird course. Her exams are very hard, but the quizzes and participation marks are easy (which make up over 50% of your grade). She is genuinely so helpful if you get to know her and go to office hours. Do your part and you'll be fine.

Very rude and uncompromising. Will expect you to have read hundreds of pages before class every week, and be able to remember specific phrases and data from said pages. Lectures drag on while also having mandatory participation and attendance. If you want to get 20% of your grade for showing up and reading go right ahead, that's the only good part.

Her lectures were very dry and I found them very boring. She was not easily approachable at all. Her online quizzes did not prepare us for the final exam and I would not willingly take her class again.

if u can avoid her u should but probably wont be able to cus there is only ONE SECTION AND ONE PROF. the only good thing is that her quizzes are openbook, the final exam however: its short answer and essay, she will give absolutely NO information, no study guide, or anything at all. her lectures are long and boring with over 150 slides each.

I know this class is only for social work students and there's only one section of POL 101 offered each year. There's no option to even switch sections. Hopefully in the future, there will be more sections offered. This class stressed me out. Just no.

100+ slides per week. Talks none stop. She is actually rude when talking to her!! Gives no guidance for the final exam which is ridiculous. There is so much I can say about this woman but I think everyone here has already said plenty. If you can avoid her..do that!

Only thing that will save you in that class are the open book quizzes. Her lectures are impossible to follow through, too much content. Bragged about how hard her exams were, and gave ZERO instructions for final exam review. Her voice is the most grating thing ever, makes you want to fall asleep. Doesn't let people leave for the washroom.

I can't even begin to describe how awful this prof is. Her lectures are incredibly boring and each week has about 80-100 slides of content on top of textbook chapters. For the final exam she gives absolutely no review or guidance, so you're stuck studying all the information. It's literally not even possible because it's so much. AVOID HER!!!

Absolutely unfair that she doesn't give exam reviews or any guidance for the final. She refused to even tell us how many q's will be on the exam. She's proud of herself for setting us up for failure. Condescending if you try to talk to her too. Overall terrible and avoid her if possible; no one could this sem due to there being only 1 section.
