Anatoliy is one of my favourite in person professors. Others might think he's strict but his homework, quizzes, midterm, etc are all based off his lectures. He doesn't leave you unprepared. Many students use chatgpt for his quizzes and then leave class which obviously you will do poorly in the midterm. He's pretty funny and engaging which i like
He used to be very nice in previous years but now he's become very strict and tough in grading. He has mandatory in-class quizzes and will mark your attendance. He also added a 40% midterm when it had not existed before in previous years. This course became a 'run for your life' course from being an 'easy A+' course
ITM795 Social Media Analytics used to be an easy and amazing course to learn, but now no longer like that. I understand he is the course coordinator. He changed the course outline by adding a 40% Midterm exam and removing all the assignments that students used to do instead of the midterm, so by that the courses got changed.
Tough and critical marker
Professor Gruzd is amazing to work with in ITM795. He gives very helpful constructive feedback on your assignments and says how you can improve. As long as you show up to his lectures and pay attention during in-class activities, you'll have no issues working with him.
I've had Anatoliy for two classes, and he's honestly great! Of all the courses I've taken in the MBA program, his have been the most useful. They're technical and challenging but rewarding. You will likely be pushed out of your comfort zone, but his grading is quite lax as long as you follow the rubric.
He is a great professor and is really passionate about social media analytics and is there to help out by giving a clear grading criteria and templates for assignments. However, a heads up 795 as a course is a lottt of work and writing like three 5 page single-paged reports and a 20+ single-page group project in exchange for no midterm or exams.
Great prof! He is very passionate about what he teaches so the course material definitely becomes enjoyable. He provides clear guidelines on how to work on the assignments which really helps.
Expectations were very clear right from the start. Lectures were organized and straight forward and Anatoliy is very receptive to questions. Feedback was prompt and fair.
Anatoliy is a great professor. His classes are packed full of information, and his interactive and collaborative style of teaching builds a lot of camaraderie among class members. He comes across initially as a bit shrewd but he warms up once you get to know him.
