Karen's a really fun prof. Her lectures are quite interesting and she has interesting perspectives in life! The course is really really easy, assignments are straightforward. She always appreciates someone who participates in class so try answering a few questions here and there!
If you are taking RTA313 you know what you are getting yourself into. She is not as mean as people think she is. She is critical but that makes sense for someone with her professional experience. She is honest and to the point and marks fairly.
The lectures for this class are so unnecessary and the program keeps trying to change it but she is hilarious.
She was nice, however I found she was always talking about her accomplishments rather than the course material
RTA 102 is such an easy class, and everything is pretty self-explanatory. Your grade is heavily dependent on your lab instructor, but overall, Karen's lectures are great, and she is very knowledgeable.
Prof. Karen is entitled and dismissive when students question grades, often blaming them for "missing context" even when the mistake made was hers. She constantly mentions her awards and expects students to admire her status. Demeanour is often condescending, and her grading criteria are unclear. Prepare for defensiveness and inconsistent grading.
Very knowledgeable gave concise and clear lectures and had the class engaged. Fairly laid back, but will sometimes pick on a person or show their project to the class and say what's wrong with it in front of everyone. But overall nice and the course is an easy foundational course
Karen is a phenomenal instructor in the area of Sport Media. She teaches things realistically and uses her own experience in the media industry to help focus on what really matters. If you listen to what she says, and do your best work on the assignments - you will gain an immense amount of knowledge from her class and receive a fair grade.
