Very unorganized professor. Says something else and does something else. Will blow you up with readings. doesn't reply to emails. If you to fail and drop your GPA perfect prof for that.
Lectures were very boring especially at 8 in the morning. We had so many readings to do each week and they were all super long (I'm talking about over 30 pages!)
This was the worst class ever. There was very little teaching unless it was by the students. The content was exciting to learn about, but was inadequately presented and lacked effort in teaching techniques. There was an unreasonable amount of readings assigned, not necessary or beneficial. I will drop out of the class if he is ever my prof again.
He lectured a total of two times - the first class and when he was getting evaluated. The rest of the lectures consisted of solely presentations on the readings done by students. Additionally, he was extremely rude and condescending to his students. He did not give clear criteria for his assignments but was extremely picky when marking.
He just didn't teach. Was incredibly slow at responding to emails, if at all. Be prepared to read because he assigned an unreasonable amount of readings (expect about 4-9 readings per "class" with each reading anywhere from 10-40 pages each). Exam was very tough due to the fact that we did not learn any course material that we were tested on.
He's a smart and knowledgeable guy, just didn't teach. He lectured the first class and that was it. The rest were student presentations for the duration of the course. Rude to students when they ask questions about grading, and provides unclear expectations for essays, exams, and assignments. Readings were ridiculously long and over 100 pages/week.
He hardly taught the class. Never went over any key subjects, or anything for that matter. It's too bad because I was really looking forward to learning, but walked away feeling like I've wasted money on a course, as I could have read a history book on my own time and learned it all.
One of the Best Professors at Ryerson. He truly cares about his students and you can see that. Assigned work is a fair amount and I learnt a lot in his fall 2018 RTA905 history of music
He should not be a prof. Worst professor I've had... Actually he is the worst Teacher I have ever had (Im my third year do the math). Lectures are not organized, speaks quickly, there is a HAND WRITTEN 8 page take home exam. Grades hard on grammar but his assignment sheets are filled with grammatical errors. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!
