Cheryl is really nice, however she made a comment about our current social climate that insinuated something that wasn't true regarding how we view foreigners. The whole program is politically driven, in my opinion. I felt like I would be walking on eggshells being in that class, I felt out of place.
Extremely kind and caring Prof, I have learned so much from her and would definitely recommend taking her courses.
Cheryl is an AMAZING PROFESSOR. I don't think I've had a professor as amazing as her in my four years of university. I highly recommend taking classes with her, she's so empathetic and also very knowledgeable and wants students to learn in the best way possible.
Cheryl is one of the best professors I've ever encountered in all of my years of post-secondary education. She encourages students to think outside of the box by providing opportunities to be creative with the execution of assignments. I hope to take one of her classes again in the future.
Cheryl was one of the best teachers I have ever had. She was respectful and inclusive with her classes.
There are no words to describe how good of a prof Cheryl is. Participate, listen & ask questions.
Most of this class is based on reading, as per usual with these SWP classes. So have fun. Also, most of the assignments are group assignments with the exception of the big essay at the end, so pick a good group because you'll be in it all semester
Cheryl was such an amazing professor. If you ever take a class with her, you could tell that she is very passionate about the readings, the issues that Aboriginal Peoples face on a day-to-day basis. She made me want to come to class every Monday despite it being a late class.
Courses with Professor Bella are like a breath of fresh air. She is so down-to-earth and engaging. Not your typical lecturer. Truly cares about students as people and wants you to do well. Respects different points of view and brings out the strengths. Also, very passionate about her work in trauma and shares experiences in class.
Cheryl is there when you need her, but her lectures are long and irrelevant. She just talks about the god damn readings all the time, the class is just a big long discussion about her experiences. She just rambles and gets distracted. Class was a complete waste of time, esp cuz there is no final exam, so you have no reason to go.
