Renee Ferguson

Dr. Ferguson is a great professor who is very kind and cares about her students. She takes attendance, and the textbook is required, but they don't feel like pointless or difficult rules because she puts in the effort to make class interesting. Attending class and doing readings make the 2 assignments and final exam easier than most other classes.

One of the best profs you can have if you want to challenge yourself politically. Renee creates a great class environment where lively discussion is guaranteed, and students are encouraged to develop their analytical and critical lens. Going into this course, the topic of policy wasn't very exciting, but I feel a deeper passion for it now.

SWP914: Amazing class- should be required for BSW! Renee is an amazing teacher, and had really interesting guest lecturers, does an amazing job of relating topics of ethics/readings to real world issues. Really important to do the readings- they make up the majority of lecture/exam. Renee is a harder marker, but provides good feedback.

difficult class but Renee is so helpful and caring, she wants you to pass and will ensure you do, easy to reach, gives lots of feedback that is sometimes tough to accept but valid criticisms to prepare you for the future, great and engaging lectures, doing the readings help A LOT, difficult class but showing up helps + great prof who wants to help!

Renee's a good Professor who provides good office hours. However her lectures are mostly her just talking so its hard to take notes. Don't leave the 10 page essay to the last minute, you'll be wishing you started earlier trust me.

She was an excellent professor, and really does teach very well. She gave excellent feedback on my assignments and as a whole, she is a great person. HOWEVER, Do not take this course if you are looking for an easy grade.

Professor Ferguson is such a kind women who is a semi-tough grader but provides valid feedback. She gave clear outlines for the assignments and went out of her way to ensure all students understood the material. Available for office hours and by email. The material in the class was sometimes hard to understand/ alot but she made it bearable. 10/10!

Professor Ferguson was sweet however, her assignments were marked very hard. Gave good feedback and she recommended the class to use the writing centre which I did, but did not change my mark. Make sure you participate in a class cause that will boost your markup. I recommend getting a different prof for this class.

Renee is great! she is a hard marker and definitely makes you push yourself. However, she really cares for her students and willing to always help. Her lectures are great also because she makes large concepts digestible

Pros: nice person, lecturing is very clear and of substance, knows what she's talking about, structured the online course this year really well. Cons: didn't give individual feedback for assignments, lecturing is a little boring, marks hard, lots of work. Overall, she's a difficult prof, but a good one.
