A tough grader, but does his best to make time to go over any complications you might have. Make sure you go to class, as his tutorials(graded) will be on the lectures the week of/before and will not post the lecture until after the tutorial. Never once had a problem with talking over a paper, or a midterm with him during his office hours.
Absolutely amazing! The rating on here is not indicative of the prof he is! Very lenient, Interesting and enjoyable lectures, very reasonable (pushed back midterm and essay dates), and if you pay attention in class, take notes you will do well. Very approachable for extra help outside of class.
Interesting lecturer and provides many videos to enhance further explanation. For SOC 505, every Monday is a two hour lecture and every Tuesday is a one hour discussion. The discussion is a free 15%, show up and answer questions. Make sure to read his notes he posts online as they will be on the tests. Further reading from the textbook guarantee 90
Outstandingly awful. Avoid taking his class at all costs.
Makes the course harder then it needs to be. Expects student to write a lot just to get some marks. In class lectures are good, but marks way to hard on assignments and tests. Its almost like he expects student to be a master in Sociology.
Makes an interesting course hell with his marking. He expects people taking the liberal course to be sociology experts. Uses big, unnecessary words in lectures for no reason but to confuse us it seems (or to sound smart). You have to go VERY in depth for a single mark question.
Did not enjoy this class as much as I thought I would. The content delivered by this prof remained very dry and boring all semester. No humor or excitement was included in class lectures. New profs should take on the role of teaching this class instead.
