Don't take this class
Nice guy, but the grading scheme was absurd. He's a part-time professor and you can tell he doesn't understand being a student. Also the course content is so repetitive and redundant, it's like how do I study for a course that's common sense put into a million testable diagrams with 7 step parts? Course should be restructured.
Prof gives assessments over 100 multiple-choice questions on the midterms and a cumulative final exam and heavy lecture content. The online textbook's weekly quizzes have no weight, but in-class attendance is like 15%. Lecture can be boring, it's content overload and more difficult than it needs to be unfortunately.
Lectures are content-heavy. The exams are just MCQs, but VERY tricky for no reason. Take this class with him if you want to fail.
Do not take 849 with this professor. I thought the reviews were exaggerated, but they were not. The MCQs are very tricky, attendance is required for participation, and he uses another paid website. Not worth it.
He'll love you if you raise your hand. Be prepared for him to call you out if you've never showed up though, not cause he's mad. I think it just upsets him that he went through the effort for people not to show. Which can be overwhelming, but there are worse profs. Goes over marking scheme in class in DETAIL
Genuinely a nice guy. I came into his class 3 weeks late and he at first did not want to give me marks for the first three quizzes I missed but I finished them before I got to meet him and he took them anyway. If he sees you're trying he'll absoloutely like you. Just study the material and you'll do well. I wouldn't say he's easy but he's fair.
He has an in class assignments about things said in class to ensure you're understanding the work. Tries to make the class fun. He's so friendly so go talk to him in office hours cause he loves students who take the extra minute to ask questions. I switched out of Roghanizad's class to take him, best decision tbh. The other guy was too monotone.
He was a good prof overall, he was good at explaining different concepts, and the in-class assignments and quizzes were easy marks. Like many others have said, the hardest part of this course was the midterm and exam, he marks fair but this sort of test involves giving a specific response, and has a certain format you have to follow.
