Weekly quizzes worth like 1.5 percent each Midterm is fully proctored with a mcq exam and 1 hour essay portion Final was also proctored there is also a term essay but the professor provides literally everything you need to succeed including recordings of the lectures there is no excuse to do poorly other than assuming this was a bird course
Excellent professor for this course. Content is engaging, exams and quizzes are straightforward, assignments are fair, and feedback is thorough. Attendance is required for participation marks, but it's very manageable overall. Highly recommend.
engaging teacher overall, exams were easy but extremely tough grader and also unnecessarily accuses you for plagiarism and AI, even when you did not use it, he is not considerate so watch out.
Absolutely do not take his class. Can and will accuse you of AI because he lacks critical thinking skills and don't know how to read. VERY condescending and patronizing. You can tell he loves himself a power trip. Also course load was very heavy and classes dragged on. Unfortunate because the material was actually interesting.
if you've a good understanding of music theory already, the course will be very easy. some of the ways he introduced concepts, especially intervals, seemed like they'd be confusing to a beginner. several assignments involve hand-writing sheet music, a completely useIess skill that is graded way too harshly
Prof. Bellaviti is a good prof for those who need an introductory breakdown of the basics of music. Attendance is included in class participation, so make sure you can attend the lectures. He creates a nice and chill lecture atmosphere and is willing to give extra help. He only cares that you give effort, not that you're perfect.
He is clearly knowledgeable but has a habit of reporting you to the AIO for plagiarism/AI. Usually for one or two sentences (not strong evidence) and even when you show draft back or Google history, he would not consider it. Beware!
I took both the history of popular music and social issues of popular music. If you have to take one, definitely take the latter. The history class was a LOT. I didn't get past chapter one of the textbook. For both classes, if you pay attention in lectures (they are the whole 3h btw) and take good notes, you'll do fine. Also, do the concert report!
Could have sum up his lectures better and more concise. Likes to interact and give students points. Very strict in terms of plagiarism and a bit picky when it comes to the context of your papers (all you had as the source of your work is the textbook and his slides, and he would say it lacks of information and too general), so be very careful.
