We had to get into groups and do presentations on the readings. We basically had to teach ourselves a good chunk of the content. He also doesn't speak in a way that makes the content interesting, although I can tell he is passionate about the subject if that makes sense.

everything is provided in detail upfront. very clear on expectations and very transparent about grading.
