Brooke Richardson

Brooke was one of the worst professors I've had in the program. She is extremely stuck up and if you don't share the same opinion as her you are graded badly. She gives about 3-5 journals a week and the weekly discussion board questions are extremely long and time-consuming. She grades things based off her opinion and feedback is none or negative.

Brooke was not the greatest to have especially during COVID. She is a tough marker and expects a lot when writing and does not give great feedback unless you have gone above and beyond. She also seems to judge your opinions or thoughts. Her tests were fair enough and information can be found in the slides and lectures or readings she gives.

I had her this past fall online semester. She is opinionated about policies established in the government and our personal choices. She's critical about the vocabulary and the APA format. Never take this course with her. She is not approachable and for extensions she would grant it as a favor rather than something we deserve. Never take her!!

Had Brooks for the fall 2020 covid 19 online semester. By far the worst prof I've had so far, she was a tough grader with her own way to assess APA. After the first paper where the average was low she said not to reach out to her, rarely made herself available and was a super condescending person in general. Couldn't pay me to take her again.

I had her during Covid19 pandemic, and all I have to say is that she was not very lenient given everyone's circumstances. We ask for extensions for assignments (which she reluctantly gives :/ but she makes it out to seem that we do not deserve it and she is doing a HUGE gesture by giving us the extension. Sounds very cocky, not genuine AT ALL...

Brooke is so inspiration and a true ECE policy advocate! She's so knowledgable and passionate about the subject. It was my favourite class ;however, she's is an extremely hard marker and the evaluations aren't easy. With that being said, the course material is important for ECE's to be educated on to create change in the Childcare profession.

Although at times our perspectives clashed, she was a decent prof to have. She's very opinionated and expects you to agree with her, but you should get the gist of what she expects you to write about and the writing style she prefers just from going over her work. The textbook is also very clearly written and cheap which is a bonus.

Brook is extremely unreasonable. Policy is a dry course and when you have a prof who adds on tons of reading and leaves no guidance when it comes to the exams, good luck trying to get a half decent grade. Heavily opinionated and doesn't like when people go against what she believes is right. Why does she wear a skirt with a flower on her butt?

Brooke is the most unreasonable profs I've ever met. Policy is already a hard enough course, and her "teaching" it doesn't help. When it comes to assignments, HA, good luck. She doesn't grade what you wrote about, but rather how you wrote it and your level of writing. She HIGHLY opinionated and you CANT prove her wrong. Avoid her at all costs!!

I had Brooke for CLD 454 and I do not recommend taking the class with her as the prof. She does not teach the course in line with the other course sections. While Alana allows fair assignment extension, Brooke does not consider allowing them. She also does not provide students with in class opportunities for certain assignments.
