She does the bare minimum and expects maximum effort. Do not expect her to care about you or your life. She does not want to help you. She always sounds angry when you ask questions or email her. She leaves out grading criteria in her instructions. Seriously AVOID AT ALL COSTS. One of the worst teachers Ive ever had!
The course itself was not hard, it was heavy and alot of reading but not difficult. The problem with this professor was that she did not post any lectures so your notes were pretty much whatever she spoke about during lecture ( hence why if you do not attend , you wont pass). Very tough grader
Yes Da Luca is dry and boring but her test are pretty straight forward.. (Multiply choice really relies on the readings) Would take her class again - challenges you to do better because you know she will mark hard
De Luca has honestly been one of my favourite profs- yes her lectures are a bit dry but if you're interested in the content it manageable. One essay and two exams, no attendance mark... however her lectures are Heavy. I you attend class you don't necessarily need to do the readings but it's nice to clarify. All an all a pretty average grader
Please do not take! Seriously the most boring professor and very hard marker
As someone who had to have her for both CRM 100 and CRM 102 avoid at all costs. She is very monotone, boring and not approachable. Good luck asking her for clarification on what she says and be warned asking questions, she can 100% just shoot down what your saying. She isn't caring at all. There are a lot of Crim profs who are 10x better than her.
I've never had such an awkward, careless professor. The material in class is straight out of the textbook, and she doesn't offer her own opinions or ideas. The lectures are incredibly boring and difficult to sit through. She doesn't seem to have outside knowledge of criminology - just bases everything off of the textbooks and doesn't clarify
Simply and in minimum sentence, do not wast your time, avoid her. The worst prof and course that I ever had. She is not even approachable or helpful. No respect.
Being graded on so few assignments makes the course far more difficult. She is monotonous but breaks topics down nicely for an intro course and times lectures well so that they may include attention to student questions. Her style definitely isn't for everyone but if you're the information sponge type with a passion for criminology she can be great
