AVOOIIDDDD. i am not lying when every person i have met who has taken her classes says avoid her like the plague. istg she is praying on her students downfall. content is so rudimentary but is the toughest marker i have ever come across. i had to cr/ncr so she didnt tank my gpa. if you know whats good for you and your mental health DONT TAKE HER
The class was incredibly challenging, mainly because my team members did not complete their assignments, forcing me to complete all the work alone, and resulting in a poor group grade. Despite reporting this to the teacher and providing an explanation, they did not offer effective assistance, which I found highly irresponsible and unfair.
If you're an art student looking for an elective to graduate DO NOT TAKE HER COURSE. You'll have no time for the work that actually matters for your career. Too many readings, too many assignments, long confusing lectures. Her feedback is critical yet vague. Was not clear enough on assignment briefs at all.
confusing requirements, too fast paced
Bad experience with this professor. Overly critical on journal entries when they are supposed to be an outlet for expression and connections to course. If she doesn't agree with you on something expect to be marked unfairly. Also be careful about what you say in your papers/assignments. Participate in class if you want to atleast try to do well.
Loree is a great prof and provided advanced information in all types of mediums. Her intensive course was a bit too heavy on assignments and readings but perhaps at normal length it's fine. She's a tough marker but if you are critical of yourself and include lived experience you'll be okay.
Loree is without a doubt one of the most intelligent and engaging professors I've ever had. I feel like she makes it her goal to try and give students the best education possible. With that being said, she is by no means an easy marker. Her teachings require people to be critical of society and themselves. Expect to put in work!
Dr. Erickson is a great teacher. Not an easy marker, but invested in student learning and critical development. I've learned a lot in her course and would love to have her as a prof again.
Expect long papers 10+ pages, detailed responses to online discussion boards and group assignments that are not clearly outlined. There is also little to no feedback provided and no wiggle room in regards to bumping your grade through re-marking or voicing your opinion.
If you're on the market for a professor who will assign you a 12 page paper, expect you to complete tons of readings, "participate" by writing several long answer discussion questions (often with many parts) on a weekly basis AND offer little to no help or feedback on how best to complete all of this work then look no further. Turn back and RUN!
