45% mid term and 55% final. Purposely adds typos on exams to throw you off, monotone and boring lectures
She is very knowledgable and patient, but her voice is SO monotone. Honestly, the course is basically taught by the TA's. Depending on the TA you get, they will treat it like it's law school. Get ready for cold calling and humiliated in tutorials. If you're planning on doing law school, it's good preparation. If not, it's torture.
Something must be done about this class and prof. Assignments are difficult to do cause there isn't a consistent criteria, Ta says one thing but the assignment says another.
literally so terrible. she blabs on and has the most monotone voice ever. be prepared to hear her rants about trump and elon musk that have nothing to do with the course material.
Most extra class at Tmu. 8 am lectures that are mandatory. useless slides, no clear grading criteria, and it takes forever to get marks back. She isnt terrible but the course is just managed so poorly.
She is great and caring. The only issue is that her TA gives different instructions from her and it is confusing and stressful. The last and most important assignment was so unorganized and confusing, but overall I would take her again.
The TA handles grading, but both the prof and TA were disorganized. Their unclear and conflicting expectations made assignments confusing and stressful. Lectures were boring, slides useless, and examples didn't align with instructions. Key materials weren't shared, and emails often went unanswered. Overall, the class felt poorly managed.
Lori was amazing for my first ever law class. Dont be afraid to ask questions as she will help clarify whatever she can as long as approached in a respectful manner. Would take her again!!
She's very knowledgeable about the content, and she thoroughly explained the concepts. I liked how she related concepts to her own experiences and real-life events, which made it easier to understand. She didn't just read off slides, so I'd recommend showing up to class because she explains it better during the lectures.
Professor Heckbert is very knowledgeable about the law. However, I found it quite challenging to learn from her teaching style, where she asks the class questions instead of explaining the material. Tests and assignments are not graded easily. LAW 533 is a rather difficult class with lots of material.
