I had Professor Scorgie for a studio course, he was very easygoing and helpful along the way and provided a plethora of insight and expertise towards our topic. Would highly recommend taking any of his classes
Blair has been in this field for a long time and knows what he's talking about. Anyone who gives him a terrible review has their eyes closed about the profession. His teaching is a cakewalk compared to what awaits you in the real world.
Expects that the responsibility is on students to learn everything themselves when he is the professor. His lack of responsiveness, inability to give clear instructions, inconsistent grading, vague answers and fluffy explanations, frustrating course management, and lack of respect for timely grading make an already rigorous course even harder.
This Professor is an asset to the SURP Faculty and his professional experience comes very useful when providing feedback and commenting on work. I would highly recommend this Professor to any and everyone in the Urban and Regional Planning Program. He made the work understandable and easy to complete, especially in an online format.
This was a challenging course to translate into an online format. I believe the instructor did his best, despite the circumstances. While we were not able to visit the the city or speaking with agencies in person, the instructor provided an immersive learning experience catering to a broad range of interests. Recommend scaling back report req.
In a semester where you are drowning in work because of studio and group assignments with slackers, this course is needlessly onerous. Very intense writing requirements for a half credit. He gave students who attended every presentation a B- for participation, which he changed after the course was finished to "professionalism and participation".
Awsome mentor. Gives great practical advice from knowledge obtained in the industry.
Blair is a really good prof. He provides specific feedback & gives us chances to apply his feedback. If you work hard in studio & try to impress your client you can probably get an A with Blair. Best thing about Blair is that he helps connect us with other professionals in the field through this course.
Responsive, well spoken, more than I can say for the rest of the profs that teach this course.
Overall, helped to understand the development of Secondary Plans well
