Dr. Huggon was very passionate about teaching and law. He was very caring and supportive of his students and ensured that we understood everything. That being said, his exams were probably some of the hardest I've ever written. Be sure to take really detailed notes in class and pay attention to the textbook.
Lectures were never boring and many examples were used to help students understand topics. I really enjoyed this course and lectures by this professor.
I absolutely loved him in first year for PSY102 and subsequently was extremely disappointed by him for PSY124. Maybe he should take on less work so he can focus on actually teaching the material he puts on the final exam considering he taught 1/3 of the chapters for it. He portrays so much moral righteousness, but only when it benefits him.
Read every inch of the textbook. For our final exam he covered 1 and a quarter chapters in class and left the rest to us to teach ourselves. He always reiterates that hes fair but doesn't provide clear instructions for the assignment, and chooses minuscule information barely covered in text for M/C. AVOID! Seems like an arrogant narcissist.
He's nice and is interested in teaching his students with the material, but his exams are probably the hardest and have random textbook questions that you wouldn't think to remember. The TA is a hard marker on the short answer questions, and even the "right" answer that he would talk about in class you still get wrong on the exam... good luck
MAKE SURE YOU READ THE ENTIRE TEXTBOOK. He pulls the randomest questions from the textbook which really annoyed me. Short answer were marked fair. Assignments were easy. Even though it was at 8AM still made it to every class.
Bittersweet. This professor is an amazing guy and shows genuine compassion towards psychology as well as the students but his exams were complete BS. He will find the most irrelevant information in the tbook to use for the tests. Either he or the TA are unfair markers in the short answer sections of his exams- the "right" answer is not good enough
Amazing prof and interesting lectures. Would definitely take another one of his class again. But make sure you read the textbook.
He makes lectures interesting and gives good real-life examples that will help you remember the content. Assignments were easy, exams were hard. But, he's very fair with what he puts on exams and is clear with instructions. Attending lectures and reading the textbook is REALLY important if you want to basically pass. His son is also adorable lol
