Be prepared to hear your own voice a lot. She demonstrates software using student examples, but she explains things very well and records lectures for reference later. She stayed after class once to help give me very in-depth feedback. She's funny and kind and she'd create mock-ups of the assignments to demo for us. She also DOES enjoy Kirby!!
Heather is a solid prof - she's incredibly pleasant during class and you can tell she wants everyone to succeed. She's readily available outside of class to help and is flexible and understanding with due dates. Her tutorials are thorough as she's incredibly knowledgeable in her field and is happy to answer questions.
Heather is a really great prof! She is very knowledgeable and her lectures are always interesting. If you don't understand something, just ask! She always takes the time to explain. Provides great feedback, and makes sure all assignments are easy to understand. Slightly challenging course if you don't know Pro Tools, but highly recommend taking!
Heather is awesome. Super friendly and kind towards students. Its like having a teacher as a friend!! Some marking can be a little harsh with this being a beginners course and online nonetheless. Its hard to learn everything well enough and develop it on your own. super helpful lab instructor though!
Heather is amazing! Super sweet and very caring! Don't understand why everyone thinks she's such a tough marker; her grading criteria and assignment outlines are very clear and descriptive, so you know what she wants. Just follow the guidelines, ask for feedback, put some effort into your work, and you'll get an 'A' no problem!
I adore Heather Kirby. RTA311 is a very involved and hands-on class and Heather makes it run smoothly. She's really nice, personable, engaging, and knowledgeable in her field. She also has real-world experience in foley. She's also just really really cool (and she plays bass in a rock band so she can talk about music production from both sides).
I can't even comprehend the bad reviews, I think they are just bitter about their sad marks in this class. Heather is an inspiring professor who is professional, caring and knowledgeable. She listens to you and she DELIVERS with great demonstration and explanations. Everyone in my class loved her!
Heather is really nice and accepting. She really knows what she's talking about, and is good at explaining things. She is also a very fair grader, and gives you extensions on assignments after she has given feedback so you can get a better mark. Attendance is mandatory because of participation marks.
Shes okay, sometimes rude but other than that shes okay
Heather is the type of professor who is deeply involved in her field. It is clear that she had a passion for what she was teaching, but because the course covers basic production, you can tell that she was phoning it in sometimes. She tried to make things fun and unique, but lacked the articulation to deliver on her teaching. She's nice though.
