Amazing prof, provides very clear examples + feedback of what you need to work on/practice to do well in the class. I really enjoyed the course (even with the online format) and think an incredibly large portion of that was because of his consistent support and feedback throughout the semester.
this guy gives no feedback whats so ever and overall a horrible prof
LAW122 is a heavy course. Trust me you won't pass unless the prof is good. As much as the lecture is heavy and dry, the test format is the same as his slides and in-class sample questions, which will help a ton in your midterms and finals.
Professor Stack certainly knows his stuff, but when it comes to being a teacher, he's pretty average. Lectures are long and dry and he doesn't explain the material that well. He assigns a lot of readings and about 30% of it's testable, so you must attend class to know what's important. But, if you do the readings and attend class, you can get an A.
Professor Stack is at times hard to get ahold of, because he doesn't really respond to emails. But, once you get an appointment he is somewhat helpful. The tests are marked fairly difficultly and the final assignment is heavy.
You'll find that LAW122 is a pretty meh course, but Professor Stack does a good enough job teaching it. Midterm and Final are basically just based off of lecture content + slides. You don't need to go to class to get a decent grade, but would advise attending class (to ask Qs)
Dropped the course after the midterm because I failed it. The exam was easy but he marked it extremely hard. My marks are relatively good so seeing a failure for an open book test made me realize that other professors like Mark, or Douglas is a safer bet because people were excelling in those classes. Ask around to see if he is worth taking.
Uses tons of great examples to explain information clearly.
He is a great guy, he took me super seriously despite my tiny personality.
Lectures are long and can be quite tedious at times, but Alex does his best to keep things interesting with lots of real examples - he obviously knows his stuff well. Tests are long and you'll struggle to finish (open book+notes), but he's a pretty fair marker. Overall, he's a caring prof + I would def recommend him. I learned a lot in his class!
