She is nice and uses up the full time allotted for her lecture. She explains everything well and her slides are helpful. I'd still recommend reading the textbook even if it's a onceover.
I recommend attending her lectures. She speaks about real life examples that would be so useful especially when you go to clinical. What's kinda disappointing is that the lectures are only for an hour, so at times she'd skip some slides. But she is a really passionate prof, and cares how we should do as nursing students.
she was a pretty good lecturer for this course, kinda sucked because it was only 1 hour. if she included more application type of questions in her lectures like the exams we took that would help students a lot more
Joyal Miranda is an amazing lecturer, she's engaging and knows the course very well. I would highly recommend taking her for the lecture portion of NSE 111. Just be weary that for the exam and mid-terms there will be terms taken from the readings and the readings are DEF mandatory if you want to do well.
enjoyed listening to her lecture as she is very experienced and has many real-life examples to share with the class!
She knows the content well and the lectures were interesting. The text questions weren't all covered by the lectures so doing the readings are important.
Lectures are not helpful at all and the content is mostly tested on the readings which is annoying since there are alot. I never really did the readings and only attended class and took notes and managed to get an A- so thats that.
The lecture part of this course was hard and many didn't do well on the midterms/exam. A few q on the tests were not covered in class prob bc it was online and cheating. However, Dr. Miranda was very helpful in answering any questions regarding placements, exams, labs, etc. and was really good at explaining the slides/using real-life examples.
Where can I begin? Not enough information on the power points. Power points do not even cover 50% of the content they expect us to know. The questions for the final exam came out of no where. There's no live lectures, its a self taught class. Could keep going on. I do not feel prepared for my clinical next semester at all. H E L P.
Professor Miranda is an amazing professor, and so were the TAs! This class was honestly one of my most interesting classes - and the teaching styles that were used were so helpful in my learning :). You do have to keep up with the slides + readings to be successful, but overall... this gives you a little taste of the nursing experience!
