Joey was awesome! Ryerson definitely needs more professors like her. She doesn't send out her powerpoints, so definitely go to class. For her first time, she did really well in engaging students with social issues. Quirky and awkward in a good way.
Joey is a great professor. The course was taught fairly well, one suggestion to use power points as some of the things she says you can easily miss. It becomes hard to concentrate on so much information at once. If you didn't have a laptop to type as she spoke you were basically screwed. Never used the textbook, but came in handy for references
Her lectures were engaging, and she was always willing to provide help for those who needed it. If ever given the chance, I would definitely take another one of her classes.
Joey is a good prof, passionate about what she's teaching and clearly cares for her students.
This class was very interesting, it will keep you engaged in class and Joey was super nice and I loved her way of teaching, she is always willing to help after class and is very understanding and helpful! :)
Actually loved being in her class. She kept things interesting and was willing to listen to individuals' thoughts. Super cool, always willing to help, and encouraging as a professor. This was also my first experience taking a sociology course and she made it a lot easier to understand how the concepts applied to things we encounter in our lives!
First sociology course was a great experience! Joey is an inspirational prof and offers help after class hours. Lectures were rather class discussions - allowing the class to express our opinions on relative videos and ads. Overall great prof
Very informative and very fair when it comes to tests and marking. As long as you pay attention in class, you'll do well. You can tell she really cares about teaching and uses a variety of tools to keep the students engaged (documentaries, movies, ads, etc). Overall great prof!
So when the course started off I was a little skeptical of her teaching because she doesn't use powerpoints HOWEVER great prof and great course. She's there to answer questions about the examessay. Her multiple choice is slightly tricky but overall a very fair marker. She's a good prof to have because she's very passionate about the material.
