I really appreciate Professor Kipang; she is lovely, creative and very supportive both in and outside of class. 10/10 would recommend this class!
She's such a nice professor with extremely clear assignments. she's also super helpful & understanding if you are having difficulty with any part of the class or need help, so don't be afraid to reach out to her. Tons of group work but it's not bad at all, getting to meet new people is so fun! Overall, I highly recommend taking a class with Shani!
Overall a really nice professor. She sure loves group member conflict though! While she's a good professor she only chooses to step in so much if you are stuck in a really bad group. But again its a teamwork course so that is the biggest gamble that is being taken. Tests are fair but oh my get ready to read lol
Sooooo much reading. Literally the tests are all readings. Also so much group work. The group work is time consuming and many people who take the course are not invested in actually doing their part.
Tips: 1)be specific in charter - criteria for meaningful participation/contribution. A few sentences of nothing is participation to some lol2)address issues immediately, if it fails, go to prof immediately so she can intervene. Reporting ppl after assignment is due is useless unless all members speak up. 3)peer evaluation grades can't be changed
Pretty easy class. Most of it was done with a team. Easy A, but you have to keep up with the work because there is just a bunch of mini assignments that are very easy. The downside is that she doesn't post her information in one place and you have to look all over d2l for information on due dates and assignments.
If you ever have the opportunity to take an interdisciplinary course at Ryerson, take it with Shani! She does an excellent job of integrating theory and practice in a fun way. Shani understands that students have multiple responsibilities outside of her course and is very easy to talk to. Also, she responds to emails quickly!
Wonderful prof. Her course is such an easy A but she is also so active and caring about her students. Lovely prof, I would recommend this prof and this course to anyone.
