He ruined my 4.0 GPA. This was the only class I got a B in. He marks very hard, super unclear with his marking scheme, does not reply to emails, inconsisent with grading, cant access half the required readings. Im sorry I could never take a class with him again
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Honestly do not know how he even is allowed to be a professor, replies to emails were excruciating slow and the grades he assigns assignments definitely does not reflect the work that was being put in. Take literally any other class, please!
This was an upper level liberal course for me and I hated the fact that he expected us to go through it extremely thoroughly like it was a mandatory course. The course in itself is not too bad but he make it extremely difficult. All my group members were also shocked on the way he grades the assignments. Just avoid him or take another course.
Honestly the toughest professor I've ever had. The course was easy but his marking is extremely difficult. Even if you follow the rubrics and guidelines carefully - it's still really hard to get a good grade for him. Overall, never received a mark this low.
This professor marks extremely hard in markings even though all requirements are met in projects and exams. The professor does not take useless groupmates seriously - leading to everyone in the group sharing a bad grade.
Professor Millar is super understanding and caring. He replies to emails very quickly and is willing to accommodate and help out. However, I did find the course a bit hard, due to it mainly being online. But I would say he challenges and pushes you to be a better writer, and he gives valuable feedback!
Prof. Millar is the worst prof I've had at Ryerson. A large portion of his comments tended to be pretentious and highlight the lack of his teaching ability. The amount of work does not reflect the knowledge retained. The only redeeming quality is how fast he replies to emails. I did appreciate course content, although I would not take it again.
Not a bird course, you have to put in work. I took it this summer , it went well as it was one of my only courses.
u had to do 4 discussion posts, throughout the semester, 1 group project, 8 pg- double spaced essay (based strictly on readings). There is a lot of readings, so understand the main concepts of each author. He is a tough grader, but if u do well on the posts (350-500 words, I always forgot to meet it), u'll be fine. Not as bad as ppl made him seem
He didn't give efficient feedback, the grading criteria was quite unclear too. When I received the notes on my term paper, he demanded very specific points that couldn't possibly be the way everyone thinks. The class has interesting material, reading is heavy but informative. However, I would not take this class with this prof again.
