This teacher relies mostly on the PP slides but when the suggestion was made to take up the assigned problems in class he adjusted his teaching style to include this. He listens to you and will make sure you understand how the problems are solved. What was taught in class was mostly on the exams. His exams we fair if you prepared and studied.
Extremely disappointed with my experience in his International Finance. Not only does he only read from the slides, he doesn't even read well and often stumbles and pauses. He ended up missing 3 classes because of his health; he really needs to retire. Can't believe I paid for this class.
Skipped every class. Focused on the textbook problems and chapters which have useful examples. Easy finance class. Prof isnt helpful.
The class was pretty interesting, Jacob was teaching the important material for the exams. Lectures usually were around 2.5 hours, could get boring so make sure your phone has battery!
He does seem like a nice guy, but he is a horrible professor! Both the midterm and the final exam were super hard, because the concepts weren't taken from the textbook or the slides... Incredibly disappointed in this class, and this professor!
He genuinely seems like a nice guy, however I didnt like him as a prof. He would read off powerpoints word for word that didnt even help with preparing for the midtermfinal exam. Midtermfinal exam were so hard; everything taught in class was completely different from what was being tested.
Lectures follow the powerpoint slides word-for-word. Homework takeup consists of the professor playing videos provided by the textbook publisher. Midterm had concepts that were not seen in the lyryx homework or textbook questions. The class was one of my worst experiences at Ryerson. He seems like a nice guy, though.
