Joseph McPhee

He records his lectures. He's not bad but hes just boring (reads off the slides). Sometimes it felt like he ended class early so he can go home. Final and midterm felt straightfoward but a lil niche at times. Labs were improved halfway through the course.

He is the worst prof ever his teaching abilities are so bad. I would never take again with him and he just reads off the slide I wish he would at least teach instead

Good!! He pretty much just reads the lectures but he records them anyway which is soo helpful. The exams are really simple he kind of asks some questions that are really specific but overall mostly pretty easy in my opinion. Labs were good aswell.

Dr. McPhee was a great prof! One thing I admire about him is that he listens to his students and their concerns. He makes sure that both lecture and lab components are fair for the students but some of the questions on the tests were worded a little weirdly. He records his lectures but I wouldn't completely rely on them as he had tech issues.

McPhee is a decent prof, he records lectures. His slides are a condensed version of the TB. Lectures are incredibly boring and long, It's really a repeat of a lot of first year content with some new concepts. I suggest really studying the content at face value, midterms & final turned out to have questions that were very straightforward for m/c.

Good prof, lectures were easy to understand even for new concepts. Lab portion couldve been a lot better but he took feedback from the students mid course and made changes for the better.

loved mcphee. his mcq on exams can be a little weird but short answer was stuff covered in class (like exit tickets), but no surprises! so many opportunities to get bonus marks (weekly forums, creative assignment). only con is weekly reading assignments sucked (super long). labs were easy. dont need to attend lectures, stuff is mostly on slides

Pretty decent prof, his midterm was a little wierd but still good. Just read the slides and watch his recorded lectures, take notes, and his exams r super straightforward, very few curveballs. Some odd MC questions here and there, but very fair lenient and detailed slides. Entertaining lectures (sometimes). Pretty funny guy too

Dr. McPhee is a great prof but this course is lecture heavy and to get a good mark, you have to attend most of his classes. He is really nice and happy to answer questions in and out of the class. His class is engaging and made me very interested in taking more microbiology courses! One of the best profs I have ever had.
