Sophie Thomas

She is clearly a very patient and passionate woman; she speaks in a warm voice. Overall felt welcome in the class and was not hesitant to attend her class.

Chill class! Attendance for tutorials is mandatory + surprise "quizzes" during lectures, but they're mostly just questions related to the lecture and the quality doesn't really matter, just that you answered. Lectures touch on most of the things that you need to know. If you go to them, you'll be mostly fine. Marking wasn't harsh as well :)

Professor Thomas is incredibly sweet and caring. However, the lectures are a bit boring making it hard to pay attention in her lectures. The course consisted of taking up the readings we did before class, and not much new was learned. The TA's were also pretty disorganized. She is a very good marker and she is flexible with deadlines as well!

Prof. Thomas provided some great insight and analysis for most units in the course however, her lectures could get a bit boring at times. She was pretty understanding about the fact that we have lives outside of the class and her assignments were very manageable.

Very very sweet lady, very boring professor. She is lenient with due dates and attendance is not mandatory as all she does is take up readings. Her classes (or this one atleast) mostly depend on your TA. She posts slides and her assignments are not difficult at all. Exam was take home for a week which was nice. I would def take her class again!!!

This is my second time having Dr. Thomas, and I can safely say my eariler review of her may have been unfair. Dr. Thomas was wonderful, her feedback has improved remarkably and her lectures were beyond compare! The assignments in this course were genuinely fun and I found myself excited to share my thoughts in lecture.

Prof Thomas is amazing. She's very considerate and keeps in mind that students are very busy. Obviously for an English class expect to do a lot of reading, however, she chooses very interesting material to study. Would recommend doing work as soon as it's assigned to take the edge off. Choose this class with her if you have that option.

Books are the textbooks, but she will usually provide them online. Very sweet and chill professor who actually cares about what she's teaching and the quality of her lectures. Tutorials can be a little hard but she provides a lot of feedback and addressed all my concerns.

Prof is very kind and considerate. Flexible with deadlines and a good marker. Lectures are extremely boring and cover readings done before class so attendance isn't necessary. In-class assignments during tutorials. TAs are great and several readings were quite interesting. Be prepared to read a lot. Overall, easy class but lectures will drain you.

Professor Thomas is a very kind and understanding person. Sadly her lectures leave lots to be desired. Although it is clear she is passionate about the texts, at times the lectures drag and time seems to hault. Despite this the TA's were amazing, and the texts were intriguing. Overall not the greatest but definitely not the worst!
