He is a terrible prof. All his lectures are confusing and just scribbles on his iPad. His exams are very difficult and anytime you try to ask a question he's condescending with his response. 338 is a boring course in general, he makes it difficult though for no reason.
He has been doing this for a decade but still makes so many mistakes in his lectures. If you zone out for 2 seconds you will end up confused. He can explain concepts very well (if you follow) but next to no lectures on the applications which is what most of the exam is on. Try doing external problems if you want a decent grade.
He is a great guy with a great personality, just is kinda bad at explaining and some test questions are pretty tough.
As a professor, he only deserves 2 stars. He does not explain the concept well. I learned everything in tutorials. Exams are fair but a bit on the harder side. He cares about his students tho and answers emails fast which is why I'm giving him 3. He's hard to understand at times but if you attend the tutorials you will be fine.
So hard to even understand him and with a mask on top of that it was basically a shit show. He has been teaching the course for over 10 years but still makes tons of mistakes like the slides are new.
The course was offered for the first time this fall, so only few students took it. Thank god I didn't drop the course as it turned out to be very manageable and easier than other professionals I took. The professor is very knowledgeable in this subject and is very caring. If you attend the lectures and take notes, you'll get an A easily.
His lectures have no structure at all. His slides have no information so during the lecture he is "explaining" the information but you never know when he's talking about something important or not. I's very difficult to extrapolate the relevant information needed for the class.
Dr. Hwang is a great Professor. Contrary to what a lot of people think, he tries his best to help his student. Is always available when in need. Very understanding, calm, patient, caring, and funny. Attend lectures, ask questions, study from notes and you're good to go. He is not out to get you. I took 5 courses with him and enjoyed them all.
cant explain his concept very well. you should rely on the text, not his lecture note. however, very considerate teacher
seems like a nice person but could very well be the worst prof in the department...
