Danziger is honestly an cool professor when it comes to grading. But, his lectures are seriously heavy. I gave up on later half of the course on making notes because a lot were just slides being read off. Always has full of examples for you to copy (he does make quite a bit mistakes). Be prepared to self-learn and use TEXTBOOK or attend Bonato.
oh peter... where do i even begin with you. his examples in class are very messy, unorganized and drawn out and the tests just got progressively harder BUT he is very nice, curves grades and will sit down and clarify as much as he can. if you take him, do every homework question at least 5 times
very fast-paced lectures, he goes over more topics than the other professors. he's not bad when it comes to explaining things but he's kind of hard to follow. when I stopped trying to write down everything he did, I started understanding better. marking was based on 3 tests and 3 quizzes. The tests had a lot more true/false than I was expecting.
Dr. Danziger is nice and all but I don't recommend taking him for this course. You're better off with Dr. Delcourt or Dr. Bonato TRUST. His slides are filled with useless information and he rushes through everything. My grades improved significantly when I stopped going to his lectures and went to the other 2 instead.
He rushes through all his lectures and his slides are ugly. He does not give enough time for students to digest the information he teaches. Whenever he starts to writing on the board, he always uses the markers with the least amount of ink. His lecture slides have so much filler content while all the other professors get straight to the point.
really fast paced lectures compared to the other profs in the dept and tough grader.
Amazing professor! if you get him dont drop the course.
Content is tough to absorb and stay focused during 3 hr lectures. Assignments were at times difficult and TA often made mistakes with the grading which needed adjustments. The course becomes much more difficult in the final month and the sheer amount of content becomes difficult to manage. I recommend having a lighter semester.
One of the best profs for this course! He might be explaining too quickly during lectures, but his courses are VERY ORGANIZED and he gives you access to RECORDED lectures, which really helped me out! I am very lucky I got him for MTH 110
The lectures were a bit boring because he read from his notes, and he gave easy examples. After the first assignment, the questions got tougher, and many people didn't do well on the midterm. I recommend reading books on Abstract Algebra and to be familiar with the content ahead of time. He allows us to use a cheat sheet. Expect to write proofs.
