Paula Schwebel

Lot of class discussion and reading. Stimulating conversation and good teaching. Tests and assignments are a bit hard.

Attendance is mandatory she gives in-classes participation quizzes at the end of some lectures randomly. They are easy marks. I didn't pay attention in class and got a B with almost no studying. I just taught myself the main ideas of kierkegaard Camus and Simone and just yapped on the exams. If you're a decent writer you could pull off a B easily

Absolutely amazing professor, Paula is exceedingly kind, smart, and accommodating. Her lectures are very engaging and she tends to go over things more than once and is very open to questions/class discussions. The class wasn't easy, I put in a lot of work, but she made the class enjoyable. I would absolutely take one of her classes again.

Very kind and knowledgeable professor, hard marker and lectures can get away from you easily if you lose focus.

very difficult lectures but lots of repetition. found it was very difficult to move my grade higher/lower by trying different approaches but it had no impact. talked to 3 students, their grades were also consistent from the first assignment. lowered my gpa significantly but i'd recc if you are knowledgeable in the topic. she is very sweet though :)

I'm in PHL680, not 600 but no option for that. Professor Schwebel knows her stuff. Highly engaging and intelligent woman. She challenges traditional philosophical assumptions and uses logic in creative ways to do it. Even if I don't agree with every point she brings up, her arguments are clear and valid. She's also just a kind soul. A pleasure.

so sweet and such engaging lectures, you can tell she cares about her students. she hosted weekly participation quizzes so do attend class for that. practice your writing skills bcs she is not a super easy marker.

Prof. Schwebel is kind hearted and very knowledgeable in her field. She broke down hard to grasp concepts which made for some very interesting lectures. She is a very hard marker but she does clarify everything you need to do well.

Never once have I had a professor at TMU who is as approachable and sweet as Paula. Her grading is always fair, and the lectures are amazing! I made some true friends in this course and I genuinely believe it was because of the wonderful atmosphere Paula encouraged. If you have the opportunity to take PHL 366 with Paula - Do it!

Amazing prof with a great attitude who cares about her students, she tries her best to make things easier for everyone, she regularly encourages open discussions and keeps things interesting. The class has two essays and one exam which also includes an essay, just get ready to write a lot lol. Overall a good class and great prof.
