Marju Toomsalu

Dr. Marju Toomsalu is one of the kindest people I have met. She is so caring of her student, she literally offered her own coat for a student who was cold in class once. Make sure to do the course readings and pay attention during class and the course will be a breeze, this professor is a very sweet person.

She is a really great professor! Make sure to attend all your classes. She gave me an extension on one of the weekly discussions. We had fun conversations during classes and she is pretty chill. She utilises the full 3 hours and teaches things properly. A great tip would be to use AI to get sample answers and connect them with the course readings.

Relies heavily on student participation and engagement. Will literally pull it out of you if you dont try. Very easy grader, very understanding and will make many exceptions. Overall wants to see her students succeed, just dont talk over her.

Not at all what I thought this course would be. It is suppose to help you learn language in a better and easier way. But this professor found a way to make it harder. She doesn't focus on meaningful topics rather research learning and stupidity on "2nd language learning process" and "how does it impact". I was here to learn language and not science

Make sure to read the extracts and websites she asks you to because the course is heavily dependent on the readings that she gives.

She cant teach at all, her D2L page is so messy that you can barely see where she's posting all the important documents, and she even posted some docs from 2017. She can't get the key point of teaching, easily to misunderstanding students. Everyone is super confused about what she taught. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!

As long as you read and finish your weekly reading assignments, you will get good grades. Papers should also be done conscientiously. Courses are easy, professors are approachable, and she works hard to make the class more interesting, but the textures are boring. In short, this is a good course.

She is the greatest teacher! Her classes were so interesting, and topics for discussions were good as well.

Love her teaching method. The greatest class in my first year.
