Prof. Naghibi is an excellent professor. She is clear with assignment instructions and class expectations. Lectures are discussion and participation heavy. Most assignments are in-class writing assignments.
Her lectures are amazing, it's obvious that she cares about both the students and the course material. does grade attendance though. Her TAs are hard markers but she's not.
There are too many readings and your grade is dependent on 2 long format essay assignments. There's a closed book exam on 11 readings and you are expected to write 2 essays in 2 hours. Her slides and lectures are also useless.
She is bad, but the ta's are even WORSE. For the exam, we had to write 2 essays in 2 hours. She was so vague with the exam review, did not specify anything, told us to know all 11 readings. We had no idea what the essay prompts could be we went into the exam blind. Her lecture notes online are absolutely useless and make no sense.
There are too many readings and your grade is dependent on 3 long format essay assignments, with a closed book exam on 11 readings. She gave no outline for the exam and you are expected to write 2 essays in 2 hours. Her slides and lectures are also unorganized and useless.
Dr. Naghibi is a kind professor and the class has some interesting readings, but I'm not a fan of the course structure. Your grade is dependent on 3 long-form writing assignments/tests with subjective criteria on how you “analyze” the texts. Having a closed-book exam on 11 readings is also a bit much.
100% lovely mom vibes -- supportive, encouraging, patient, and warm. She creates space for class discussions that are engaging and enrich one's understanding of the interesting material's she pulls from. I cannot recommend her as a professor enough.
Sweet woman, interesting reading material (a lot more interesting than I was expecting), and assignments/exams were not super difficult if you attend lecture. However, a little too much class discussion in my opinion, as I found that lecture were mostly student's answering questions she would ask instead of an actual lecture of the analysis
Dr. Naghibi was an absolute delight of a professor. She had mom vibes in the best way possible and was always so willing to help. She is incredibly understanding and her lectures were always thoughtful and enjoyable. I highly recommend this course and this professor.
Dr. Naghibi was extremely nice and the course readings were really interesting (not something you would expect in a literature class). The TA's were, however, very harsh markers and the test/midterm/exam requirements were really high, making it hard to do well. Lectures were interesting and needed to be attended to do well on the exams.
