Worst class I have ever taken at Ryerson. Group project was okay but individual assignment and exam were marked harshly. Unclear instructions on assignment, hard marker. Never take his class ever again!
Great prod, no words man. Very insightful, thought out and designed lectures that display his passion for sport. Uses plenty of references with gifs, images and videos, and most of them tend to football (not the American one). He is not a hard marker, just make sure to review his power points and to not be lazy.
Nick is a great prof however, if you aren't into sports, don't let your friends convince you to take mkt829. There's a lot of theory memorization and if you get stuck with a bad country for your group project then you're not going to do so well. I can't say that he's not fair, if you like sports then you should 100% take this course with Nick.
This class was awesome. I learned a lot (albeit, not all of my grades would suggest that). Most important to me was how interesting the professor made it with good content. Presentations also tend to include things (gifs, images, Star Wars references) that made me laugh a little and made it easy to stay awake for his 8 am Monday morning class.
Coming into the class with the expectation of getting an easy A in the course is a bad way to look at it when it comes to Nick. Don't get me wrong he's a great teacher and is hilarious in his lectures, but if you skip his lectures and don't listen and take notes in class, you're basically screwed. He's a great guy, but a really hard marker.
great guy, straight forward easy to understand. Tells you exactly what to expect and what to study for. Go to class for key hints on the exam and easy 15% participation marks. Overall amazing proff funny and energetic definitely take his course if you can
The course is relatively new, and no required text so I recommend attending lectures and taking notes. He's a new/young prof, but he's easy to understand and knows his stuff. Goes out of his way to engage people who might not be into mainstream sports like hockey/soccer. Brace yourselves, there's a group project that lasts the whole semester.
