Denise Young

Denise just reads from her slides with no enthusiasm, creating a disengaging environment. I didn't feel comfortable asking questions because she seemed over us all term. She offers little guidance for exams as well. Honestly, I did well only by memorizing the slides, the class offered very little beyond that.

Such a sweet professor and very caring. She's very generous and genuinely wants to see students excel in her class. She allowed us a cheat sheet for the 2nd midterm and the final. Her questions are kind of similar to the iclicker questions given in class so attending lectures is a good idea (also attend to get the full 10% for iclicker questions)

She was such a sweet professor, I loved her for PLN103. She was very generous with marking and even allowed a cheat sheet for both the second midterm and the final. Grading is based on two midterms, a final, and clicker questions. Her test questions are pretty similar to the clicker questions, so be sure to attend classes.

Very generous professor. She allowed a cheat sheet for Midterm #2 and for the final exam. You should attend all her classes and take notes on paper.

Had her for PLN103 and she was very kind and generous with the marking (allowed cheat sheets for the second midterm since many students failed the first one), she replies quickly to emails and gives good feedback and suggestions. Classes are interesting and interactive, content is heavy but final exam only consists of two chapters, not all.

Denise is amazing! Many students are scared of taking FND 300 in person bc of how heavy the content is, but she is well aware it is a tough course, and marks the quizzes/midterms/exam EXTREMELY fair. That being said, the content can be tough, lots of memorization/understanding, but I promise if you put the hard work in, she will help you succeed!

Wonderful person. Great teaching, fair marker, makes it clear what she expects from you. Prepare before the labs, she is very no-nonsense. If you make a stupid mistake, you will know. I learned a lot from my experience with her and left this course a lot more confident and smarter than I entered it.
