I don't know if she thinks this lecture is a therapy session with the amount of yap that happens for 3 hours straight or not. The group structure is also unnecessarily annoying since extra members can be added above the required amount, which forces the group to split in half and creates a lose/lose scenario. Pretty annoying course.
I would like to say something. However it won't let me, don't know why
Hello will they even let me write a review on how bad my experience was
She yaps about trump all lecture, every lecture, is also passive aggressive. For one of our projects she required all group members to participate to receive full grading on other group's peer evaluations, it does not make sense for people that attend the class to be punished because their group members did not attend class.
GMS400: I get this course is about the Global Business Environment but she's preaching this 2000s-esque highkey still r4yc1$t YT liberalism with extremely outdated global stereotypes. A hypocrite because of her extremely critical and borderline abrasive commentary about other nations without being able to acknowledge Canada's own CURRENT issues.
Unhelpful inside or outside of class. Doesn't know how to use D2l, even after years of teaching at tmu. Makes things unnecessarily difficult to make herself feel better about her classes but she doesn't care about her students. Multiple of my classmates reached out to her for help but she refused to help. puts trick questions on the quizzes.
For GMS400, wasn't listed as an option. Passive aggressive is an understatement, makes it seem like her inability to hear students is their fault. Don't know the point of lectures if we were only going to be tested on the readings which she doesn't take up well in class, often going on tangents on Trump, whom I also dislike but like anything else??
Best prof for this course. Easy class, easy grader. Literally just do the work on time and you'll get a good grade.
Respectfully no. Deborah is extremely nice BUT her teaching style wasn't it for me at all. She kept going back and forth from slides and then specific reading / articles. It confused me and my friends so much that we just stopped attending her lectures. The midterm and exam was both online in class no lockdown browser, and thank goodness for that.
Honestly, a really nice prof. These reviews are quite shocking to me. The class itself and the material are extremely boring, but she herself is fine.
