Fanelli's sarcastic humour and dislike of the Toronto Maple Leafs was reason enough to come to class! Learned a lot. Would definitely take again.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Fanelli is a textbook narcissist who shows utter disregard for the success of his students. Carlo routinely disrespects students for asking simple question regarding lecture material and he does not provide adequate resources for students to be successful in his class. Lectures are textbook reading sessions that drag on and on

The only professor I genuinely dislike at York. His attitude was extremely off-putting, his lectures regurgitated the textbook, and he heavily emphasized class participation. I had a disability-related accommodation that he didnt want to honour and he was really rude to me about it. The only good thing about the class was my TA, she was amazing.

Loved him then, love him still. Great professor who is passionate about his subjects. Pay attention, do your readings, show interest, take notes and youll do well. Miss you, Carlo!

From reading other reviews of Fanelli he is either loved or hated. Anyhow, I enjoyed the class, thought he was tough but fair. If you didn't come to class or read, don't bother, he'll embarrass you in class. Is that any different from a workplace? But if you do good in his class you'll do good in others...

Avoid if you are uncomfortable speaking up in a full lecture hall. Do not ask Professor Fanelli for help or clarification about his lecture slides/assignment guidelines. He will not acknowledge that he may have been unclear- he will assume you didn't attend lecture. High (and unclear) expectations, unrealistic amount of reading assigned for 3000lvl

lectures are based all on textbook material. The first short answer assignment: he gives the TAs a answer key sheet that they base you assignment on so if you dont touch on what hes touched on youll either fail or pass with a bad grade. He makes the exams more complicated than it should be. He talks over you when you ask a question in class.

This was the first class I took that I got a C . All my other 1st,2nd, and 3rd year classes I got B+ and As. I did all the readings and participated. I approached him about a lecture that was canceled b/c of a snow day and he was so ignorant with me. Your going to think hes nice in the beginning but youll soon come to realize he just ridiculous.

Prof. Fanelli is one of the awesome professors at York University. Make sure you participate in the class discussions and do your readings! (That's where the exam questions are based on).
