Professor is hit-or-miss - lectures can be dry, but assignments and quizzes are helpful. unstuck ai was a great study tool alongside the textbook. Put in the work and you'll do well.
The material learned is similar to AFF310 (which I didn't like), however, with Prof. Laleh, she made AFF420 really easy to understand. I wish she taught more courses. Her exams are very fair; they're similar to problems done in class and on the previous exams. She's also very friendly when you ask questions, and is a lenient marker. She's the best
I had Laleh for our MBA Finance course and she was amazing. The course built the foundations for Finance and she gave very useful lectures and Excel training. She is quite helpful during office hours and the exams were fair. Attend the review sessions.
I had her for AFF 420 and she was okay. Her exams were fair but her teaching overall was not amazing. She seems confused sometimes when she's teaching and also switched up on us last minute about being able to bring only one cheat sheet to the final exam instead of 2 like she promised the whole semester. She's tolerable but not great.
Teacher is constantly changing things. I take an accelerated class so its extremely annoying, she extends deadlines and changes them at will with NO ANNOUNCEMENT. And she's impossible to reach by email
Do yourself a favour, dont take this prof for fin 300. She only posted 2 announcements the whole semester, and did not answer questions on the discussion board/emails. Literally take any other prof and youll be better off. There were no lectures for this class. Some people finished the final exam, and she waited to post the format afterwards.
There were no lectures for the course. We didnt know the midterm format until 2 days before the midterm. Final exam, I finished it, and then the prof posted the format. Wont reply to emails, it took 2 weeks to receive a reply with several follow ups. I had to drop 2 courses in the summer to put all my time in this class. Worst experience ever.
Laleh is a pretty solid choice. Most of the classes in uni do rely on individual readings and doing homework on your own. You do end up teaching yourself almost all of the content before each class but the tests/exams were pretty fair and she gives good feedback if you show up to office hours.
Classes are quite boring, never started on time and always had a excuse to be late. She just reads of slides and makes you buy a 100$ textbook that is useless.
She literally just reads off the slides
