course was ok very difficult to reach outside of class, he rarely responds to emails
You can just tell Jeremy doesn't care to teach this course. Learned more from the TA. She actually gave great feedback and was a lot more intuitive over the work.
Course material was a little boring but he tried to make it good.
Was a lot of reading and lecturing, but it I learned a lot. He cared alot during the pandemic. The course was a lot of reading but I liked it and think he did a really good job. Would like to take his class again with a upper year class for sure.
went into exam with 1 mark from whole semester, so couldn't figure out if i wanted to drop or not. lectures & ppt were so messy. talked about irrelevant things for SO LONG. don't email him, he is rude (seems nice, is not). tas are hard markers and not super nice, would never take him again! material is okay, could've been taught it in 3 classes tho
He was enthusiastic but that's about it. His lectures were confusing and his slides were terrible and hard to read. If you didn't read the textbook you were pretty much screwed. He was understanding of the stresses of the pandemic which I appreciated.
Great prof! You can tell he is very knowledgeable and loves to teach. Made online accessible and accommodated due to COVID-19. Would enjoy taking one of his classes again. There is a textbook that you must read in order to pass as it is very information heavy, however, it is easy to understand and wasn't a issue.
You can tell Jeremy cares and he's very engaging (despite the 8am lectures) which helps considering the boring content. You have to read the book (it's a pretty easy read, just boring) and then the lectures build on concepts from the book. This setup was fine, it just didn't feel like the most efficient use of lectures.
You can tell Jeremy cares about what he teaches and the students. Lectures were interesting and helpful. However, for an 8am class they should've been recorded and were not. He is passionate about what he teaches and it made a class with boring content more interesting. Overall, I really enjoyed the class and would take a class with him again.
I understand that he's not for everyone, but as a fellow pop culture nerd he is super engaging and fun. Tried really hard to build community and program-spirit among students while online. Your enjoyment of the class likely depends of the TA, but I had his main one and she was amazing. Read the entire textbook early on - you'll have an easier time.
