Martin Pyle

i really liked his class and how it was formatted. the textbook was video format and clearly explained everything. as long as you stay on track and dont fall behind you will do very well.

Martin was so great and accommodating. There is a recommended textbook, but it isn't needed to do well in the course. He wants every student in his class to succeed. Before every test, he sends an email to remind students of what they should focus on and to encourage them. He is always willing to check in. I wish I had more professors like him.

TAKE HIS CLASS!! It's a math class, so yes, he makes you do math, lol. I had his 8 a.m. class, and he knew how to match that energy. He also allowed us to use an Excel calculator on the final, so you don't have to worry about memorizing formulas and can focus on understanding what to do with the information.

Martin is a nice guy who tries to lighten the mood as much as he can with dad jokes. He explains concepts well and many times. However, your grade will suffer if you take a course with him. He is an extremely tough grader. The highest mark for the first assignment in our entire lecture hall was a 63, so you be the judge of how hard he marks :)

Martin is a really kind prof and genuinely cares about his students wellbeing. He puts a lot of effort in to make his lectures interesting/engaging and is very passionate about the subject. To do well, you HAVE to attend the lectures. His assignments can be confusing at first but he will provide clarification and useful feedback if you ask for it.

The class is great and he is a great professor don't get me wrong. However, the tough grading and lack of instructions for the assignments are truly unfortunate. His lectures are great and fun, and he is super nice. However, my GPA will drop significantly. I wish he wasn't as tough when it comes to grading, or at least giving clearer instructions.

Very a very tough grader. Assignments have no structure or parameters, basically, guess what he wants.

He is such a tough grader, the assignments are very unclear. No parameters or structure to it. You basically have to guess what he wants, because he provides no structure. However, quite accessible outside of class.

He is a really great person and makes lots of time for his students outside of class. With this being said, his quizzes are literally impossible. As well, the major individual assignment is very unclear and confusing and worth a lot of your grade. Just know you won't get a good mark in his class, but he is a great person.
